Become the character, not fan

The One Liner

Become the character, not just a fan

The 140 character tweet (or X) version

AI turns iconic movie props into personalized artifacts with your face, story, and identity built in. Not merch, you’re in the movie.

The Longer Story Version

The Problem

Most fandom is… passive.

You watch the movie.
You quote the lines.
Maybe you buy the hoodie.

But everyone else has the same hoodie.

There’s nothing about it that says you.

And that’s the shift happening right now.

People don’t just want to like something.
They want to feel like they’re part of it.

We’ve gone from watching → to sharing → to becoming.

And merch hasn’t caught up.

It’s still mass-produced, generic, one-size-fits-all.

Meanwhile, identity is getting more personalized everywhere else
avatars
skins
profiles
AI-generated everything

Fandom is stuck in 2012.

The Solution
Instead of buying a prop… you generate your version of it.

You pick the universe.
You upload your photo.
You add a few details about yourself.

The AI does the rest.

It creates a version that feels real.
Not novelty. Not cheesy.

Your McLovin-style ID… but actually believable.
A Pulp Fiction-style wallet… engraved with your persona.
A wizard acceptance letter… written specifically for you.

Not just your name dropped in.
Your backstory. Your traits. Your role in the world.

Then two things happen:

You get the physical version
Something you can actually hold

And you get the digital version
Something designed to be shared

Because this isn’t just a product
It’s a signal

“This is who I am… in this world”

That hits way harder than “I like this movie.”

How We’d Build It

Phase 1: prove people want this

  • Use Nano Banana 2 + Ideogram for artifact visuals

  • GPT-4 / Claude for story + personalization layer

  • Spin up a simple flow in Lovable (photo upload + inputs)

  • Use Printify for on-demand physical fulfillment

  • Distribute on Etsy + TikTok + Reddit (fan communities)

  • Focus on 3–5 parody-safe templates

Phase 2: make it feel real

  • Fine-tune outputs using tools like Krea for consistency

  • Add “persona builder” (traits, roles, backstory memory)

  • Use something like Replicate to standardize generation pipelines

  • Launch a lightweight “identity vault” (store + revisit your characters)

  • Start creator collabs (custom universes, limited drops)

Phase 3: scale into a platform

  • Open up API-style creation (let others build templates)

  • Partner with IP holders or lean into parody ecosystems

  • Add progression (your character evolves over time)

  • Layer in collectibles, rarity, and social graph

  • Turn this into identity infrastructure, not just products

Why It Needs to Exist
People don’t just want merch. They want to be inside the thing they love.

This is the natural next step.

From watching → to sharing → to becoming.

AI makes it instant.
Social makes it spread.
Identity makes it stick.

You’re not buying a prop.
You’re generating your place in a world.

And once people experience that…

regular merch starts to feel kind of boring.

How Jennifer Aniston’s LolaVie brand grew sales 40% with CTV ads

For its first CTV campaign, Jennifer Aniston’s DTC haircare brand LolaVie had a few non-negotiables. The campaign had to be simple. It had to demonstrate measurable impact. And it had to be full-funnel.

LolaVie used Roku Ads Manager to test and optimize creatives — reaching millions of potential customers at all stages of their purchase journeys. Roku Ads Manager helped the brand convey LolaVie’s playful voice while helping drive omnichannel sales across both ecommerce and retail touchpoints.

The campaign included an Action Ad overlay that let viewers shop directly from their TVs by clicking OK on their Roku remote. This guided them to the website to buy LolaVie products.

The campaign helped drive a big lift in sales and customer growth, helping LolaVie break through in the crowded beauty category.

2026 vs 2030 Take

2026:
This feels like a gimmick.

People are going to pay for fake IDs from movies?
Or some AI-generated “you in Hogwarts” letter?

Cool for five minutes. Then what?

Feels like novelty Etsy stuff with better marketing.
One purchase. Maybe a share. Then it’s over.

Not a real business.

2030:
That’s what people said about avatars.
About skins. About usernames.

You’re missing what this actually is.

This isn’t merch.
This is identity.

2026:
Identity? It’s a fake prop.

2030:
So is a profile picture.
So is a Fortnite skin.
So is a blue check.

People don’t care if it’s “real.”
They care if it represents them.

This just moves fandom from passive → participatory.

2026:
Okay but it still feels… fake.

2030:
Everything online is.

The question is:
Does it feel personal?

If I can generate a version of myself inside a world I love…
with my story, my traits, my role…

That’s way more powerful than a hoodie with a logo.

2026:
But is it repeatable? Or just a one-time thing?

2030:
That’s where you’re stuck in product thinking.

This becomes:
Your identity vault
Your characters
Your progression across worlds

People don’t just buy one.
They build themselves across universes.

2026:
So you’re saying this is bigger than props?

2030:
Way bigger.

This is what happens when AI meets identity.

And once people feel what it’s like to be in the story
