It’s 4:15 PM on a Tuesday, which in real-estate time is basically midnight.
Two agents slump into a sticky dive-bar booth:
Agent #1 (Mel): burned out, looks like Zillow personally wronged her.
Agent #2 (Trent): wearing sunglasses indoors, somehow bragging already.
Bartender: the only adult in the room.
“I lose five grand every time someone moves to Phoenix,” Mel says, slamming back a Modelo like it owes her money. “This month alone? Two families gone. Poof. Like they got drafted into the Witness Protection Program but forgot to leave me a referral split.”
Trent grins.
“Bro, I printed $40k last year from inbound referrals.”
Of course he did. Trent gives off “I sell two houses a year but talk like it’s 200” energy.
Mel glares.
“How? Who’s sending you deals? Your mom?”
“No,” Trent says, flicking his straw like a philosopher. “Random agents from Ohio and Florida. They DM me on Instagram because they ‘like my vibe.’”
The bartender stops wiping the bar.
“Your vibe? Honey, the only thing your vibe’s attracting is fruit flies.”
They both laugh, but it stings because she’s right.
Mel sighs. “This industry’s insane. There’s no system. No rules. Referrals happen in Facebook groups run by admins named ‘Jeffrey’ who still use AOL.”
Trent nods. “Real estate is the only business where you can lose money because someone else found cheaper tacos in another state.”
Bartender leans in.
“Sounds like you two need therapy AND this platform you keep whining about. What’s the actual idea?”
Mel sits up, serious now.

Mel laughs. “It’s not babysitting.”
“Sure it is,” Bartender says. “But babysitting that pays.”
Trent raises his glass.
“To passive income from other people’s moving problems.”
Mel clinks it.

The bartender nods.
“That’s the first good idea I’ve heard in this bar today.”
